Blue Cypress Lake is just west of Vero Beach, Florida and is approximately 6,555 acres. It gets its name from the bright blue appearance of the cypress trees as the rising sun's rays refect off the lake. It is home to many species of birds but one that is in great abundance is the osprey, a bird of prey. During the spring time 100's of osprey build their nests on top of and in the cypress trees. This makes for wonderful backdrops with unobstructive views of these wonderful birds.
